From the beginning...
In 2012, frustrated with the conventional travel gear from big-name luggage brands that dominated the market, two visionary Austrian-German entrepreneurs grew determined to change the way people pack for travel. Indeed, despite numerous attempts to procure suitable carry-ons, they were constantly dismayed by unimpressive designs, inconvenient usage, and inadequate features that failed to keep their attire wrinkle-free.
The opportunity...
Austrian-born Michael Kogelnik recognized the immense opportunity to eliminate the aggravating practice of having to spend precious time ironing and resorting to dry-cleaning services to freshen up their attire while traveling. He knew firsthand that every minute of traveling is valuable and should be optimized for preparing for meetings or discovering destinations.
And the journey of Alchemy began...

An award-winning carry-on is much more than just a nice design, and from the beginning we wanted to ensure the materials would live up to the standards of even the world's most frequent travelers.
"I had been designing clothes and bags as a passion since I was a teenager, and I knew that with some innovation and the right design, travel gear could be highly functional but in an elegant way. So I took a leap...I resigned from my day-job and embarked on the huge journey of starting a new luggage company."
